HPLC Analysis of 6 Active Components of Caulis Lonicerae

Thermo Fisher Scientific pplication Note 299Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is pleased to announce an efficient, comprehensive HPLC QC method using an Acclaim Phenyl-1 Column for the separation of all six main active components of Caulis Lonicerae, an important traditional Chinese medicine. To regulate this natural treatment used for acute fever, headache, respiratory infection, and epidemic diseases, the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (PPRC) requires two different methods, which combined only identify two main target components.

Application Note 299: HPLC Analysis of Six Active Components of Caulis Lonicerae Using a Phenyl-1 Column details the baseline resolution of loganin, sweroside, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, rutin, and galuteolin of the dried rattan of Lonicera japonica (Caprifoliaceae or honeysuckle family). Other HPLC methods that can identify the active components require long separation times and have insufficient peak resolution.

This application and many others can be found at www.thermoscientific.com/dionex under the Documents tab.
